Are you interested in whitening your smile? If so, good for you! There are many products available that can help you reach your smile goals. Two of those options include whitening gel and whitening strips. To help you know which treatment is best for you, our dentist, Dr. Virginia Sharpe, is happy to tell you the differences between the two treatments.
Whitening gel is a treatment that is provided by your dental team. Along with the gel, we give you a customized tray that fits perfectly over your teeth. This is an at-home treatment that you can use at any time. However, it is important to follow the instructions provided. All you’ll need to do is fill the tray with the gel, place the tray on your smile, and wait for the recommended amount of time to pass. This treatment will usually provide top-notch results.
Whitening strips is an over-the-counter treatment that you can purchase at the store. They are thin liners that cover your teeth up to the gumline. All you need to do is remove the cover, place the gel side of the strips on the teeth, apply pressure with the fingers, and wait for the recommended amount of time. This treatment won’t whiten your smile as much as the gel will, but it will still give you brighter results.
